2012 season highlights include The Black Tie Gala Orchestra on stage with The Houston Ballet at Wortham, the "Jackie Evancho" and "Bugs Bunny at The Symphony" shows at Symphony Center, and backing up Rod Sterwart at The Woodlands Pavilion. In May, the swingin’ ensemble led the festivities at The Hobby Center Grand Foyer for Theater Under The Stars Annual Gala Ball.

Husband and wife for 25 years, Band leaders Danny Strba and Marsha Sterling bring a wealth of talent and experience to Black Tie Gala Orchestra. Native Chicagoans, their early years began as stage musicians with show business legends Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis, Jr., Burt Bacharach & Dionne Warwick, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Peggy Lee, Dinah Shore, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Sheri Lewis, and George Benson. In 1989 their already flourishing careers were elevated to new heights when they joined The Frank Sinatra Orchestra. The years touring with the ‘Chairman of the Board’ still provide the inspiration to preserve the living tradition of this great American musical legacy.

With abounding energy and dedication to artistic excellence Danny, Violist with The Houston Symphony, serves Black Tie Gala Orchestra in many capacities. His multi-tasking offerings include conducting, singing, arranging, and playing piano, Vocalist, Violinist, Comedienne Marsha Sterling is best known for her dazzling performances and innovative programming with the popular Best Little Klezmer Band in Texas. Her unbridled enthusiasm lights up the stage and infuses Black Tie Gala Orchestra with style and panache. Together this dynamic duo inspires new innovations that keep their performances vibrant and engaging.
